I co-authored, together with Giorgio Ausiello, Fabrizio d’Amore and Giorgio Gambosi, the university textbook Linguaggi, Modelli, Complessità (new edition, Franco Angeli, 2014), a reference text for Theoretical Computer Science courses in Italian Computer Science and Computer Engineering degree programmes.
The book covers grammars and automata, the limits of computation, computational complexity, and the P = NP problem, with exercises, historical and bibliographical notes, and a section on approximation algorithms for optimization problems.
Theoretical computer science refers to a body of scientific disciplines concerned with the formal study of the tools, methods and processes for representing and processing information.
